Case View Expandables
This documentation covers the case expandable feature delivered in the April 2026 redesign. It is the only part of the portal that is genuinely new — everything else (cases list, search, tabs, theme) was copied from the live software and behaves as it does there.
The problem
Section titled “The problem”Case managers worked out of three dashboards: Cases, Eligibility, and Arbitration. A single dispute would leave a trail across all three. Finding “things I need to act on today” meant sweeping every dashboard and reassembling the picture by hand.
The feature
Section titled “The feature”A stage stepper on the case detail page, with three nodes: Eligibility Review → Arbitration → Admin Closure. Each node is expandable: clicking it opens an inline panel inside the same card that contains everything that stage’s dashboard used to contain.
Everything a manager used to open the Eligibility or Arbitration dashboards for now lives one click away from the case itself.
- See the stepper on any case: case-1
- See the Eligibility panel: case-1 → click Eligibility Review
- See the Arbitration panel: case-2 → click Arbitration
- See the Admin Closure panel: case-5 → click Admin Closure
What’s documented here
Section titled “What’s documented here”| Page | Covers |
|---|---|
| Stage Stepper | The three-stage model, stepper UI, node states, expansion behavior, StageBadge coherence |
| Eligibility Panel | Layout of the Eligibility Review expandable |
| Arbitration Panel | Layout of the Arbitration expandable, including the locked documentation footer |
| Admin Closure Panel | The Administrative Closure Summary card |
What’s not documented here
Section titled “What’s not documented here”These surfaces exist in the prototype but mirror the live software directly, so there is nothing new to document:
- Cases listings page (header, quick-action stats, table columns)
- Top bar search dropdown
- Dark/light theme toggle
- Overview tab content (Case Information, Parties)
- Non-stage tabs (Payments, Actions, Notes, Documents, Line Items, CMS Sync, Admin Actions)
- Sidebar navigation
If one of these needs changing later, the live software is the source of truth.
